Takisawa: Still Going Strong

We've had great success selling Takisawa from Japan and Taiwan. If you need a lathe with a great reputation for quality, let's talk. And come and see them at JIMTOF.

Takisawa Machine Tool Co., Ltd. is a long-established Japanese manufacturer of precision machine tools, known globally for CNC lathes, manual lathes, and multi-tasking machining solutions. Their reputation is built on reliability, accuracy, and continuous engineering refinement — qualities that have made them a trusted supplier across automotive, aerospace, general engineering, and high-precision manufacturing.

Takisawa Taiwan operates as a strategic manufacturing and engineering arm of the group. While Japanese headquarters focuses on R&D and flagship product development, Takisawa Taiwan produces cost-effective, high-quality CNC lathes and machining centres for global markets.

We sold a couple in May and early June, including one to the largest aerospace company in the world. It's a great range, well-priced with the Japanese Yen down and also out of Taiwan.

What This Means for the Market

JIMTOF 2026 is more than a trade show. It's a signal. When the industry gathers in Tokyo, it's because manufacturers are investing, innovating, and looking ahead.

Three things stand out this year:

  • Automation is front and centre. Cobots, AMRs, and lights-out manufacturing are no longer future concepts — they're on the show floor.
  • Grinding and EDM are evolving. The Studer S23 and S41, plus the Agie Charmilles Cut P and Laser S 500 U, show where precision manufacturing is heading.
  • Local support matters more than ever. With Accud stocked in NZ and AU, and Takisawa supported locally, buyers don't have to wait weeks for critical tools.

JIMTOF 2026 is where the industry sees what's next. If you're serious about manufacturing, it's worth being there.
